Seasonal Service & Health Checks
Why it's important to service your classic car seasonally
Servicing your classic car seasonally is not just about maintaining its aesthetic appeal; it's about preserving mechanical functionality and safety. Each season brings its own set of challenges for vintage vehicles, from the cold, damp conditions of winter that can cause rust and battery issues, to the heat of the summer that can stress cooling systems and fluids.
Regular seasonal checks and maintenance ensure that these timeless classics can withstand the rigours of changing climates without losing their charm or reliability.
By ensuring that your classic car receives the attention it deserves season by season, you will guarantee that it remains more than just a mode of transportation; it's a timeless treasure to create memories on every journey.

What vehicle health checks are recommended?
- Oil levels: Ensure that oil isn't leaking, and that oil is topped up. Seasonal temperature changes can cause pipes to expand and contract, even when the vehicle isn't in use.
- Coolant levels: Check for signs of leaks or corrosion in the coolant system.
- Brakes: Check how the brake pedal feels and ensure that there is a good level of brake fluid.
- Battery: Ensure that the battery is charged.
- Lights: Check that all lights are working as expected.
- Windscreen: Top-up windscreen washer fluid and check the condition of the wiper blades. Windscreen wiper rubbers can dry out and split in storage, especially in warm garages over the summer.
- Wheels: Inspect the condition of the tyres by checking the read depth, checking for cracks and adjusting the pressure.
Whilst all of these checks can be done from your own home, we would always recommend that you have your classic car professionally checked. This way, we can ensure that your vehicle is as safe as possible.
